Set Up Conferences Pro

Conference Pro is the commercial conferences module. Adds web-based room management, scheduled conferences, dial-out invitations, mute/kick from a web console, and per-conference statistics. Free Conferences module is sufficient for ad-hoc rooms; Conference Pro is for routine business conferencing.

Commercial module

Conferences Pro requires a Sangoma commercial license. Confirm at System Admin → Module Admin (search for "Conference Pro" or "conferencespro"). The menu item won't show if not installed/licensed.

Before You Start

  • Conference Pro module is installed and licensed.
  • A user account in User Management exists for any moderator who needs the web console.

Steps

Create a Pro conference room

  1. Go to System Attributes → Conference Pro.
  2. Click + Add Conference.
  3. Fill in:
    • Conference Number — e.g. 8100.
    • Conference Name — e.g. Weekly All-Hands.
    • Bridge TypePublic (open join) or Static (one-time scheduled).
    • Description — optional.
    • Moderator — select User Management user(s) who can manage this room.
    • PIN — moderator and participant PINs (separate fields).
    • RecordingYes to record automatically.
    • MoH Class — pick a class.
    • Allow Menu / Quiet Mode / Talker Detection — same as basic Conferences.
    • Maximum Participants0 (unlimited) or cap.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Click Apply Config.

Schedule a conference (Pro feature)

  1. Conference Pro → Schedule tab.
  2. Click + Schedule.
  3. Pick the room, set start/end times, recurring pattern (daily, weekly, etc.).
  4. Add invitees by email — UnifiedBX sends them the dial-in info.
  5. Submit.

Web management console

Moderators access the room via UCP at https://<unifiedbx>/ucp/. The Conferences widget shows live participants, with mute/kick/lock buttons.

Verify

Schedule a test conference 5 minutes from now. Confirm invite emails arrive. Dial in at the start time.

Common Issues

  • Schedule doesn't fire. System cron isn't running, or the moderator's email failed (check Sysadmin → Email).
  • Web console blank. UCP permissions don't include Conferences. Edit the user → enable Conferences widget.
  • Recording not saved. Recording path full, or post-call hook failing. Check disk space and /var/log/asterisk/full.
  • License expired. Module disables; revert to free Conferences.
