Add a Misc Application¶
A Misc Application creates a feature code (a star-code dialed from a phone) that sends the caller to a destination. Use it to give users a one-key shortcut to an IVR, queue, conference, or external number.
Before You Start¶
- The destination exists.
- You've picked a feature code that doesn't conflict with built-ins. Use System Attributes → Feature Codes to scan existing codes.
Steps¶
- Go to System Attributes → Misc Applications.
- Click Add Misc Application.
- Fill in:
- Description — e.g.
Quick Sales Queue. - Feature Code — e.g.
*55. Star + 2-3 digits is conventional. - Feature Status —
Enabled. - Destination — pick the queue, IVR, etc.
- Description — e.g.
- Click Submit.
- Click Apply Config.
Verify¶
From an extension, dial the feature code. The call should route to the destination.
Common Issues¶
- "Sorry, that feature is not enabled." Status is set to
Disabled, or the feature code conflicts with an existing one. Open System Attributes → Feature Codes and search for collisions. - Code dials a number instead of routing. No outbound route should be matching
*55…— but if your dial patterns are very loose, it could. Tighten outbound patterns.
